Every student at Seton is equipped with a chromebook

1 to 1 Computer Program

Every student is assigned a Chromebook through the Seton Instructional Technology Department and are responsible for their device throughout their four years at Seton. This Chromebook should be the only computer device used by the student while in the classroom. Students must bring their Chromebooks to school fully charged.

All software and apps on the device are installed and managed wirelessly through Seton Catholic, ensuring every student has secure access to the same learning tools and up-to-date resources. Devices are kept streamlined and protected so students can focus on learning, not troubleshooting.

Costs

Technology Fee: $99

Charged on August 15th of each School year through the family FACTS account.
This fee is non-refundable and is NOT covered by STO Scholarships or Expanded Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESA), it will be the obligation of the family.

Accidental Device Damage/Deductible Charges:

1st Occurrence - No charge
2nd Occurrence - $50
3rd Occurrence - $100
4th and any additional occurrences - $150
Intentional damage will be billed to cover the full cost of any repairs.
Please note that the cost of the insurance increases after each occurrence, and families will be responsible for the additional fees.

Lost/Damaged Item Charges:

Charger - $40
Case - $40
Lost Device - $500

Taking Care of Your Device

Students are responsible for the general care of the device that was issued to them. Here is how they can do that:

Report any problems, damage, or loss of device ASAP to a teacher or technology staff member.
Students are responsible for bringing their fully charged device to school each day, unless specifically instructed not to do so by their teacher.
Protect the device screen as they are particularly sensitive to damage from excessive pressure on the screen.
Close the device screen before moving it.
Do not lean on the top of the device when it is closed.
Do not place anything near the device that could put pressure on the screen.
Do not place anything in the carrying case that will press against the cover.
Do not place anything on the keyboard before closing the lid.
Clean the screen with a soft, dry cloth or anti-static cloth.
Do not bump the device against lockers, walls, car doors, floors, etc., as it will eventually break the screen.
No food or drink next to your device while it is in use.
Devices must never be left in a car or any unsupervised area.
Use device for educational purposes only.
Do not place stickers, use markers, or engrave on any part of school-assigned technology.
Do not attempt to repair or modify your device.
Report any problems, damage, or loss of device, a.s.a.p. to my teacher or technology staff member.
Do not install, download or use software that Seton does not authorize.
Do not remove programs or files from device.
Do not attempt to bypass security settings on your device.
Students may be selected at random by teachers or administrators to provide their device for inspection for damage or misuse. Failure to comply with the General Policies listed may result in the loss of 1 to 1 privileges for a time period to be determined by the school administration.
