Target Date/Transition (4-Day Hybrid Schedule)

Schedule Updated on 10/14/2020: Click Here to Access the Schedule for our 4-Day Hybrid

Dear Sentinels,

To date, we have not had any positive COVID-19 cases or exposures on campus. We feel confident in our ability to implement our mitigation strategies, but we remain vigilant and we are always looking for ways to improve. It is our intention to begin a 4-day hybrid the week of Monday, October 19, 2020. This will allow students to attend all classes online on Mondays, with an in-person block schedule Tuesdays through Fridays. Parents who prefer their son or daughter to remain 100% online will have the option to do so. Please keep in mind that the target date of October 19th is subject to change for COVID-19 related reasons outside of our control, but any changes will be immediately communicated via email and our website.

Students are expected to continue following our mitigation plan. Please make sure students stay home if they feel sick and parents must continue completing the Daily Symptoms Check through PowerSchool. Students are encouraged to stay home and access their classes online when they have any COVID-19 symptoms. This option to work from home is not intended for any other reason.

I also want to emphasize the greater need to remain physically distant while on campus. We have observed students arriving early on campus and sitting in each other’s cars without masks. Please make sure students arrive no earlier than 7:45am and that they leave campus as soon as the school day or practice is over. While we try our best to correct and redirect students when they are not in compliance with our expectations, they are ultimately responsible for their behavior and they can help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community through their actions. Students observed not following our mitigation plan, or who engage in inappropriate behavior, will be subject to disciplinary action and may be moved to continue their studies 100% online.

In addition to our previously stated mitigation plan from our Steadfast in Our Mission document, here are some changes to expect as we transition to our 4-day hybrid schedule:

  • We will require teachers to implement a strict adherence to a seating chart for each class.
  • Students will be spaced out 6-feet where possible, but no less than 3-feet in the classrooms.
  • Our schedule will change to accommodate 3 lunch times on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Our hybrid schedule will change and it will be communicated soon on our website and our Steadfast in Our Mission document.
  • Vending machines in the cafeteria will be stocked with items available for purchase. Lunch service will not begin until the start of the second semester.

Parents will be required to complete a survey informing the school of their intentions to have their sons and daughters participate in the 4-day hybrid or remain 100% online. This survey will be sent by Dr. Sweeney on Thursday and it must be completed by Wednesday, October 14th.

Sincerely,

Victor Serna

Principal
