Greetings Sentinels,

I want to thank everyone for all of their great work as we prepare to transition towards returning to campus. We anticipate opening with our hybrid model on Tuesday, September 8th.

Under our hybrid schedule, everyone will participate from home with online learning on Mondays.

The Red Group includes students who signed up for this option with last names beginning with A through K. The Red Group will be on campus for classes Tuesdays and Wednesdays and participate from home on Thursdays and Fridays.

The Gold Group includes students who signed up for this option with last names beginning with L through Z. The Gold Group and they will be on campus for classes Thursdays and Fridays and participate from home on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

To better communicate our mitigation strategies and expectations, I am requiring all students who plan to be on our campus to accept the COVID-19 Sentinel Family Promise. We have been fortunate to experience a downward trend in new cases and positivity rates in our state and county. This has mainly been because of the collective efforts of many people throughout the community to implement healthy practices like wearing face coverings, staying home when sick, constant hand washing and physical distancing. This is no time to stop these practices. I am trying to keep everyone on our campus safe and I want to avoid having to shut down again. Please review the COVID-19 Sentinel Family Promise together to understand what is expected.

Please note two important items as we start with our hybrid schedule. The first is regarding daily symptom checks. Each student must complete a symptom check through PowerSchool before leaving his or her house. The second is that lunch will be different once we are back on campus. Under the hybrid schedule, students must provide their own lunch and there will be no vending, refrigerator, or microwaves available. Please plan accordingly. This information is contained in our reopening plans, Steadfast in Our Mission, and these plans are always updated on our COVID-19 webpage.

Thanks again for all of your great work to get to this point. Do not let your guard down and do your part to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Sincerely,

Victor Serna
Principal
