Parents: Return to School

PLEASE RESPOND NO LATER THAN MONDAY AUGUST 31, 2020 AT 3:00 PM

August 28, 2020

Dear Parents,

I am writing to let you know that we have worked diligently to identify what our learning model will look like when school begins hopefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.  It is our plan to come back to school in a Hybrid Model on the 8th that splits the student body in half and has half of the student body attend in-person on Tuesday and Wednesday while the other half of the student body would be online.  Then the roles would switch on Thursday and Friday.  This is being done for safety reasons to minimize exposure and to be able to contact trace any outbreaks of the virus.

This link will take you to my Plan to Reopen Seton Catholic Preparatory Video:  Plan to Reopen Video.

This link will take you to the Hybrid schedule that we will be using:  Seton Hybrid Schedule.

Attached is a survey that I need every parent to complete by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2020.  The most important feature it assesses is whether your student will be joining us for the in-person Hybrid schedule or whether they will continue with full online instruction.  The Survey can be found here: Return to School Survey: Parent

We have used, and will continue to use, guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Arizona Department of Health, The Maricopa County Department of Health, The Diocese of Phoenix,  and the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) as a framework to plan for a safe and effective return to the 2020-2021 school year. When we will go back to 100% full-time instruction is still uncertain but we will be guided by the data and will continue to focus on a high-quality Catholic educational experience that will ensure the safety of our students and staff.

The Mission of Seton Catholic Preparatory is to provide a college preparatory curriculum within a Catholic faith community focusing on academic excellence, leadership and loving service to others. Throughout this recent crisis we have met the challenge, maintained high expectations, and have provided a quality Catholic education for the children in our community.  We are committed to continue this tradition no matter what obstacles arise.  We will use our mission as our guide to serving young people and their pursuit of knowledge, understanding and growth in their faith.

We know many of you may be anxiously awaiting this news, as you plan for your future work schedules and childcare and consider other critical family decisions.  As we continue to focus on the safety of our students, staff and community, we thank you for your patience as we work through this process to be prepared for the foreseeable realities we may face.

We miss our students and hope that you and your families are healthy!  Thank you for your partnership during these truly exceptional times.  Please complete the attached survey and know that your voice, and the voices of all the students, families, and staff we serve, will play an important role in developing our plan for the 2020-2021 school year.
