Alumni Hall of Fame

Established in 2003, with the first awards presented in 2004, The Seton Catholic Preparatory Hall of Fame Awards are given in recognition of demonstrated commitment to and application of the standards of excellence for which Seton Catholic Preparatory is known.

	Fred and Laura DeCaro, Past Parents Distinguished Service Hall of Fame Sentinel Booster Club (SBC) members, Laura served as President for 3 years Revised Sponsorship program for the SBC generated record numbers Fred managed SBC social media and online presence Began Trivia Night for Seton Parent Association reaching out to future families Fred is the announcer for football games for 9 years at time of induction
	Martin Contreras, Class of 1983 Distinguished Athletics Hall of Fame As a sophomore became leading point guard, scorer and was team captain, recognized as All-State Senior year he was first in points per game average (24 ppg), first in steals, and second in assists within Class C. Scored over 1000 points in three years which set record for career points from 1960-1987

	Steven Saville, Class of 1979 Distinguished Alumnus Hall of Fame Degree in Journalism, and was President and Publisher of multiple Flagstaff publications including NAU's "Lumberjack" and "Mountain Living Magazine" Humanitarian, involved with 17 non-profits in his career including YMCA, United Way, and Big Brother Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce Philanthropist of the Year in 1998

	Tiffany Tate-Eckes Distinguished Athletics Hall of Fame Assistant girls basketball coach, joined the program in the 2008-2009 season During tenure of 9 seasons, Seton won state championships for 7 of them Suffered from cystic fibrosis was an inspiration to girls basketball and Seton as a whole for perseverance and grade and will be remembered for her sacrifices and importance to our program

	Armand Ortega, Past President Distinguished Service Hall of Fame Participated in fundraising with Christian Brothers for much needed gym Financially began wrestling program and funded program through years of its early existence. 	Nicole Hank, Class of 1996 Distinguished Alumnus Hall of Fame Volunteered and worked with organizations that try to find treatments and cures for epilepsy, brain cancer, MS, ALS, Traumatic Brain Injury, Neuropathy, and Myositis Developed a vitamin, Neuro-V, that rejuvenates nerves to help neuropathy patients with pain and suffering
	Sister Marie Theresa Rishel, Teacher and Volunteer Distinguished Service Hall of Fame At various times while at Seton taught Math and Theology, tutored students in Math, and was a substitute teacher Took students to volunteer at Andrew House to work with homeless Became a missionary, worked in Mexico and Guatemala, helping those in orphanages, and teaching religious education Traveled to parishes promoting Missions in China, Ecuador, and Korea

Volunteered labor at Seton assisting in construction of gym, installed sprinkler systems, irrigation and infield sod on baseball field, and did general maintenance of baseball fields
Public announcer for Seton Football starting in 1996, more than 100 home games and 20 seasons

Meghan Mullin, Class of 2005
Distinguished Athletic Hall of Fame

Star softball player, had a high school record of 21-1 and never hit below .415 in a season, won state championship 4 years in a row
Won many accolades all 4 years at Seton including All-East Valley 2A-5A Player of the Year, Republic’s small school Player of the Year, and All-State teams
Senior Year: .567 batting average; 23 RBIs, .611 on base percentage, 16 stolen bases and 1.02 ERA

	Lisa Wangler Moser, Class of 1998 Distinguished Athletic Hall of Fame Played softball and won 3 state championships, All-Tournament, and her senior year the team was ranked one of the top 50 softball programs in the nation by USA Today Magazine Distinguished Athlete from the US Marine Corps In college, received many recognitions including All-Conference Team, All-American, set Oregon record for single season hits, MVP and Rookie of the Year, Big XII All-Tournament

	Sharolyn Thun Hohman, Class of 1963 Distinguished Alumnus Hall of Fame Served as President and CEO of Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce for 24 years Helped establish one of the country’s largest shelter for domestic violence where 90% of women do not return to the abusive situation Involved civically with many organizations including Southwest Lending Closet which provides medical equipment at no cost, Tri-City Boys’ and Girls’ Club, CTE Advisory Board to the AZ State Board of Education, and Arizona Farm and Ranch Experience Received multiple awards including Soroptimist Rose Award, Lion of the Year in 2004, Phoenix and Maricopa Workforce Connections Super Start in 2002, and Arizona Woman magazine Trendsetter in 1998

	Fred Buelna, Class of 1977 Distinguished Athletic Hall of Fame Played football and was selected for All-State team 4 times, was 2 time MVP, two time offensive back of the year, led in rushing, pass receptions, touchdowns and leading scorer for all AIAA Played basketball and was selected for All-State team 3 times Played baseball and was selected for All-State team 4 times, was 3 time team MVP, selected as All-State Baseball MVP Junior year and won 2 state championships Received Fr. 	David Walker, Class of 1984 Distinguished Athletic Hall of Fame Played football and selected as All-State in offence, All-State in defense, Runner up in conference at quarterback Played baseball and was conference champions twice, selected as All-State, and pitched 10 innings in the semifinal and final games in the same day to win State Championship junior year Received Fr. Distinguished Alumnus Hall of Fame

Helped start alumni program at Seton Catholic, dedicating many hours over 4 years (at the time of induction)
Served term as chairperson for Alumni Association and Chairperson for Hall of Fame committee, including ensuring that the event continued
Played basketball at MCC for 2 years, UofA girls basketball team manager, held multiple Assistant Coach and Head Coach positions
Currently works for Phoenix Fire Department, is a Paramedic, and teaches EMT classes at MCC

Dr. Vincent Sheridan, Coach and Teacher
Distinguished Athletic Hall of Fame

Taught Social Studies for 4 years, “Felt like God put me in the right place at the right time”
2nd year at Seton became baseball coach, was a part of AIAA B Region, had only 8 players so made a deal with another student to have a full team, finished 2nd place, left Seton with 4 region titles, 3 state titles, and a record of 31-0 over 3 title seasons
Became Principal at Gerard until it closed, then became Principal at Our Lady of Mt Carmel before retiring

Steven Turkovich Jr., Coach
Distinguished Service Hall of Fame

Coached football, basketball, baseball, started Track and Field and Cross Country
Won multiple ASIAC championships, one in football, one in basketball, 2 in baseball, and one in track and field.
Became Athletic Director with Fr. Eigel, helped establish a champion attitude with students, treated them each as they all had the potential to do great things

Distinguished Alumnus Hall of Fame

12 year career as teacher at St. Mary Basha, Queen of Peace, Christ the King and a substitute teacher at Seton.
Served Iowa Pharmacy Association Board of Trustees, Iowa Heath Systems Pharmacists Board of Trustees, and Ventura Community School Board of Education for 9 years
Worked with SBCM Corporation as a consultant pharmacist, worked with 30 nursing homes to assist older adults in finding more affordable medication regimens and monitoring outcomes

Thomas Camptell, Class of 1970
Distinguished Athletic Hall of Fame

Stellar Scholar-Athlete, played football basketball, baseball, Track and Field
- Senior year in football, completed 85 of 156 passes for 1664 yards, 18 touchdowns, rushed for 456 yards, scoring 4 touchdowns and kicked 10 extra points
First athlete at Seton to receive a full athletic scholarship to a Division I university, recruited by Notre Dame, Penn State, Stanford, ASU and UofA which he ultimately attended
Had a full football career at UofA, played fullback and tight end, became a started his sophomore year, and his senior year beat ASU for the first time in 10 years.

	Bob Adlhoch, Class of 1987 Distinguished Alumnus Hall of Fame Career in production and live sporting events Phoenix Suns TV Producer and Director Past President of the Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmy Awards) Received 8 Emmy awards for producing, directing and graphic design (since induction has been inducted into the Silver Circle) 2009 class of Phoenix Business Journal’s “40 Under 40”
	✝ Fr. John Fahey Distinguished Service Hall of Fame Taught at Seton, Religion, English, and History and filling in other subject areas that the Sister of Charity needed fulfilled. Helped secure financial donations from the community during Seton’s hard times in order for the school to continue Helped begin a Head Start program for underprivileged children in the community
	Jerry Mullin, Teacher and Coach Distinguished Athletic Hall of Fame Coached at taught at Seton for 24 years (at time of induction) including Director of Counseling Coached at total of 46 seasons in Boys Varsity Basketball, JV Boys Basketball, Cross Country, Track and Field, JV Girls Basetball, Girls Varsity Basketball for 22 seasons As Softball Coach, coached 9 of the 11 State Championships in AIA, 20 teams to AZ State Softball playoffs for 22 years, made it to 16 consecutive state playoffs, a part of the AIA Coaches Association, recognized by AZ Republic and Tribune as Coach of the Year many times, and produced more than 15 players who continue on to play softball at the college level

	Jim Ryan, Class of 1968 Obtained bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, and law degree, with honors, from the University of Maryland. Spent 12 years in the U.S. Intelligence Community, holding successive positions as an intelligence analyst, intelligence team chief, Cryptologic Staff Officer, and attorney for the National Security Agency. Returned to Arizona in 1983, and had a distinguished career as a senior litigation partner with the Phoenix office of a national law firm. Appointed to various leadership positions in the American Bar Association, including Chair of the ABA Section of Litigation's Trial by Jury Task Force. Served the Chandler community in various capacities, including multiple terms as a Director and Officer of the City's Industrial Development Authority, Chair of the City's 2003 Citizens' Bond Committee, and Chair of the City's successful 2004 Bond Election Campaign. Served the Seton Catholic community as Chair of Alumni Fund-raising for the Seton Gymnasium campaign, was twice elected as a member of the Seton Catholic School Board (now, the Advisory Committee), and served several years as School Board President.

Distinguished Alumnus Hall of Fame
The nominees would include graduates who have distinguished themselves in life after their time at Seton Catholic Preparatory. These accomplishments go above and beyond and should set them above their peers which could include: Lifetime achievements, Significant accomplishments within the community, Significant accomplishment or contribution within in their field.

Distinguished Athletic Hall of Fame
The nominees would include graduates who have who have stood out among their peers and created a lasting legacy in athletics. This also includes coaches who distinguish themselves through coaching merits, and./or volunteers or staff who have made a lasting impact on the athletics program at Seton. These accomplishments should often still be significant 10 years after their graduation. Some examples of accomplishments these exemplary individuals may hold are: Multiple championships, School and/or state records, Significant statistical achievements, All-State and/or All-Region recognition or other era-specific awards, Founding an athletic programs.

Distinguished Service Hall of Fame
The nominees would include graduates of Seton Catholic Preparatory, faculty, staff, volunteers, and/or parents who have made an impact on Seton Catholic Preparatory through outstanding achievement or contributions to Seton Catholic Preparatory as a school or community. Individuals in this category must have served Seton for a minimum of 4 years. Some examples of these exemplary individuals are: Staff members who have significantly impacted the growth of Seton, Volunteer/Parent who have sacrificed their own time and demonstrated a significant dedication to Seton Catholic Preparatory, Volunteer/Parent who facilitated the inception and/or continuation of programs or events, Alumni who have returned to Seton and had a significant impact on Seton beyond a career achievement (teacher, etc.).
