Planning Study

How we got here...

In 2019, Principal Victor Serna, his Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees set forth a 10-Year Vision to coincide with the school's 75th Anniversary.  The 10-Year Vision aligns with the Master Plan, approved by the diocese several years ago, and centers on two key focus areas: supporting Seton Catholic's mission and ensuring sustainability and vitality.

Dear Friend,

As we begin a new school year, I am grateful for the opportunity God has given me to lead Seton Catholic Preparatory. Inspired by the charisms garnered from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, our students explore Courage, Determination, Faith and Love and apply it to their lives as students, leaders, and loving servants to others. For nearly 70 years, Seton Catholic has been a cornerstone in our community, inspiring thousands of young hearts and minds and providing them a solid foundation for life.

It is in this same spirit that we look to the future.

Seton Catholic has worked with the Diocese to create a Master Plan for our campus. This plan, coupled with our 10-Year Vision which culminates at Seton’s 75th anniversary, enhances our facilities to match our nationally recognized school. The Msgr. McMahon Gymnasium, while functional, has no air-conditioning and is not an ideal gathering space for students, faculty, alumni, parents and benefactors. The space is inadequate to celebrate Mass, hold special events, or support our expansive Sentinel athletic programs.

A core component of the Master Plan is a new, multipurpose Event Center. Its creation will:
• create a sacred environment for Masses and a more-usable space for student events,
• alleviate court space conflicts, and expand athletic training facilities and offices,
• welcome alumni, parents and the broader community to our revitalized campus for events, and
• play a key role in attracting and retaining students to increase enrollment.

As we consider moving forward with a capital campaign, we have retained the services of the Steier Group, a Catholic development consulting firm, to conduct a comprehensive planning study. Through this study, Seton's stakeholders will provide critical feedback on the proposed plan. Your input will determine the level of support required to launch a capital campaign as well as help identity key campaign leaders and volunteers.

On the right of this page, you will find the master plan fact sheet, which provides greater detail of the Events Center. Please take a moment to look it over and please take our survey located below. I value your longtime support of our school and look forward to your insights. Your participation is crucial as we place
our courage, determination, faith and love before God for the benefit of Seton Catholic Preparatory.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Victor Serna
