• Please remember that the only companies that report back to us regarding re-loads on your gift cards are Fry's and Basha's. Many other companies allow their cards to be re-loaded, but there is no return of profit to Seton or to you. At Gas Stations - Please present your card to an attendant inside the gas station.  Your card will not work at the pump.

Expiration - Debit card is valid for one year from original activation date.  Date is shown on card carrier as to when they will expire.  We highly recommend NOT to carry a large inventory of these cards to eliminate a shorter shelf life than expected by your participant. 

Always know your balance - Call 1-866-578-0117 or visit www.prepaidrewardscenter.com to find out your balance. 

If the balance of your debit card is less than your purchased amount you must use tell the cashier to do a split transaction - Pay the difference first with another form of payment and then use the balance on your debit card to pay the balance.

Returns - Retain your card until you are sure all purchases are final and you will not be making any returns that will result in a credit back to your card.

On-line Purchases - Debit card must be registered at www.prepaidrewardscenter.com before being accepted for on-line purchases. Often times online merchants do not accept multiple forms of payment, so be sure your purchase balance is less than your card balance to ensure a smoooth experience.

Reminders About VISA Gift Card Usage

Five months ago, we introduced the VISA card in our program, with the intent of providing scrip shopping families an alternative for shopping at retailers that don't currently participate in scrip fundraising.  Target, Kroger, and McDonald's are some of the retailers we mentioned that would accept these gift cards.  Thousands of families have done so and feedback to us about this product has been very positive.

We have also heard that some families are using the VISA card at doctor's visits and for other normal household spending that scrip has typically not been available.  If these kinds of expenditures could normally be made with a VISA credit card, we are not surprised that the VISA gift card can be used there, as well.  This is a great example of the creativity and commitment to scrip fundraising at many of our non-profit organizations.

We have also heard reports of two troubling activities.  The first is that some coordinators are not delivering the "Terms and Conditions" with the VISA cards.  It is extremely important that these documents be delivered with every card, as these gift cards have some restrictions that other gift cards do not, and these documents outline them very carefully.  The second is that some families are purchasing VISA gift cards for very creative uses (such as home mortgages and tuition) and are disappointed to learn, after they receive them, that they cannot use them for that purpose.  If the gift card has been removed from the packaging, or if it was purchased from us more than 30 days ago, it is not returnable to us.

Please be sure and remind your organization families what the intended use of the VISA cards are.  If families want to use them in more creative ways, they should research the usage thoroughly before placing an order for the cards.

American Express $25 Prepaid Cards Now Available 

Great news for the holidays...Great Lakes Scrip Center now offers the American Express Prepaid Cards in a new $25 denomination, in addition to the already available $100 and $200 cards.  The non-profit contribution remains the same at 1.25%.

The American Express Prepaid Card is redeemable anywhere American Express is accepted - over one million retail locations in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, including mail order, online and brick and mortar establishments.  These include such fine retailers as Target, Costco, Kroger, Publix, Nordstrom and many, many others. The American Express Prepaid Card is handy for those times when traditional scrip cards cannot be used and if you're searching for a great holiday gift idea...look no further.

To purchase American Express Prepaid Gift Cards From GLSC, search "American Express" or look for the gift cards in our "Xtra Stuff" retailer category.  There are no activation or service fees on American Express Prepaid Cards purchased through Great Lakes Scrip Center.
