Academics

Seton Catholic is proud to offer a wide range of curricular offerings, to challenge and nurture the interests of each one of our students. Admittance to Seton Catholic is based partly on academic performance and test scores to insure that all students who are accepted have the ability to succeed in our college preparatory environment, which is designed to exceed the requirements of the Arizona state university system.

Even with our standard rigorous, college prep curriculum, most of our graduates go beyond the minimum requirements through our Advanced Placement program, dual enrollment opportunities through Seton Hill University, or challenging electives such as Anatomy and Physiology, Academic Decathlon or Psychology. Seton students have the opportunity to pursue their passion for the performing and visual arts through a rapidly growing Fine Arts program that features ceramics, photography and film as well as some of the more traditional two-dimensional media, such as pencil, charcoal, or paint. In religious studies, students not only receive instruction in the Catholic, Christian tradition, but in their junior and senior years have the opportunity to explore elective options in courses such as World Religions and Religion and Conflict. Briefly, academics at Seton Catholic are challenging and enriching, and these are just some of the ways in which students enjoy the richness and depth of our academic requirement.

Seton Catholic students appreciate that their teachers are passionate about the subject matters they teach. Most of Seton Catholic's faculty members have Master's Degrees, and a number of them also have Ph.D.'s. What sets this group of talented individuals apart, however, is their care for their students. Teachers are always willing to lend extra assistance to their students who are struggling, and truly go above and beyond to help students succeed. When teachers and students make these connections outside of class time, during office hours, on the field or in a club or activity, friendships are formed which can last a lifetime.

Students at Seton Catholic are remarkably successful in their academic endeavors. Because of our college preparatory focus, Seton Catholic sends, on average, 99 percent of its graduates each year to college. Seton Catholic graduates have been accepted to the finest universities in the country, including Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Notre Dame, Georgetown, UCLA and Brown.
