In keeping with the Mission Statement of Seton
Catholic High School and the goals for Catholic Schools for the
Diocese of Phoenix, the admissions policy fosters and maintains both
the Catholicity and the diversity of the Seton Catholic community.
Seton Catholic is a co-educational four-year college preparatory
school that accepts students according to the following criteria:
-
Testing: All students applying for grade nine
must take the standardized entrance exam administered at Seton
Catholic. This exam is administered in January of the eighth grade
year.
-
Application: A complete application package
must be submitted by the last business day in February. Applications
received after the deadline may be waitlisted.
-
Interview: Formal interview to include student,
parents and a member of the Admissions Interview Committee.
In general, the Admissions Committee takes into
consideration all of the above information plus the following:
-
Current students of Catholic schools and students
attending public or other private schools where the student
him/herself is and has been actively involved in his/her parish
community. "Actively involved" is defined as: consistent attendance in
religious education, attending Mass regularly, and involved in
ministry.
-
Non-Catholic students who have not attended Catholic
schools, where the student him/herself is and has been actively
involved with his/her church community.
Other factors are:
-
Family members who are currently enrolled in, or are
alumni of, the Seton Catholic High School community.
-
Children of faculty and staff.
-
GPA if applying to grades ten through twelve.
